We were thrilled when OC Emily Craig, 2011 opened our new Wellbeing Centre, affectionately known as St Raphael’s (or “Raphs”), in September. This centre underscores Mayfield School’s dedication to the wellbeing of both students and staff, promoting happiness and confidence as key to academic and extracurricular success.
Not only did Emily open Raph's she also launched a school-wide Olympic fitness challenge. Our goal is to cover the distance from Mayfield to LA—host of the next Olympics—an epic 9,000km journey!
St Raphael’s aims to ensure that every individual feels valued and supported, equipping them with the skills to navigate today's challenges. The serene environment, complete with a secret garden for reflection, enhances the experience.
The centre offers Life Skills and Personal Development lessons, with Year 13 students mentoring younger peers, fostering meaningful connections. Additionally, the Mentoring Program, led by Senior Prefects, provides informal support through listening sessions in inviting spaces.
St Raphael’s also includes school counselling, medical services, occupational therapy, and support groups. Its convenient location allows parents to easily access pastoral and medical teams, with many appreciating the centre's discreet and welcoming atmosphere.
In summary, St Raphael’s is an inclusive haven for students, parents, and staff, encouraging everyone to embrace this vital resource dedicated to wellbeing at Mayfield School.
