Antonia devoted her life to Catholic education. To mark her legacy, Antonia wanted to ensure that as many girls as possible are given the opportunity to experience a Mayfield education. We are therefore inviting donations to the Antonia Beary Bursary Fund. This will provide financial support for a girl, who would otherwise have found a Mayfield education unaffordable.
When Cornelia Connelly arrived in Mayfield to have a picnic within the ruins of what is now Mayfield Chapel in 1863, she had a vision to renovate it to it's former glory.
Restoration of the Old Palace began in 1864 and the ruins of the 14th century hall were transformed into a Church within 14 months.
There is now a need for essential costly repairs. These repairs will ensure the continuing use of the building and will preserve the historic fabric for all to enjoy.
