Mayfield’s newly-refurbished Music Block – renamed St Cecilia’s in honour of the patron saint of music - opened in time for the 2021-22 academic year. The building will be a huge asset to both the Music and Drama Departments, and incorporates six sound-proofed and climate-controlled music practice rooms, break-out rooms, a Music Classroom including an IT suite, a dedicated Music Library, instrument storage facilities, and areas for individual quiet study.

The ground floor of the new building comprises a large second Drama Studio which is being used for teaching, rehearsing, occasionally as a dressing room, and for public performances. The Studio is equipped with stage lighting and has been designed to be a versatile space.

Have a look through the Music Block album on the Photos page to see how the rebuilding and refurbishment progressed.
