A Summer Message - Andrea Connor

My love of Mayfield

18 years ago, I ventured through the ‘Wooden Gate’ and didn’t realise just how long I’d stay! Julia Dalton was so welcoming the day I started and I seemed to fit in well into the school office.  Still here and now looking forward to working in the new Wellness Centre due to open in September. There have been many changes in my time here and I think this is probably going to be the biggest. A most beautiful tranquil setting that I can call my workplace – a room with a view!

From the inception of the new ‘secret garden’ to the lovingly crafted lawns and borders now coming into bloom, Mayfield remains such a beautiful place.

Over the years having met so many parents and many becoming friends, it has been a truly wonderful community to be a part of ‘The Mayfield Family’. I guess I have seen around 1200 girls through their time at Mayfield and have thoroughly enjoyed ‘being the school mum’ as I’m often referred to by parents. One of the joys is seeing them arrive back here for a visit, everyone instantly recognisable. Keep coming back and sharing your stories of where life has taken you now!

I was considering early retirement this year as my husband retires in June, but I really can’t bring myself to leave. There aren’t many people who can say they love their job, but I really do ‘Love my job’.

A room with a view!

So, here’s where the biggest change comes in. From September I will move down to the new Wellness Centre continuing as Attendance Officer and taking up the new position of Wellness Centre Receptionist. The building is a stunning architectural comfort blanket for both girls and staff and will be a welcoming place for all. The views are amazing from every aspect and even more so from my desk!

So please do pop down and say hi … I do make a good coffee!
