Mayfield was delighted to welcome grandparents and loved ones to the School for a joyful celebration that truly highlighted the strength of our extended community. The occasion provided a wonderful opportunity to bring together families from across generations, reflecting the enduring relationships and shared values that lie at the heart of a Mayfield education.
A particularly special moment was the return of OC Jill Marriott (née Metcalf, Class of 1958), who visited Mayfield alongside her granddaughter, Florence Marriott (Year 13). Jill’s presence was a touching reminder of the lasting connection many Old Cornelians continue to feel to the School, and of the powerful bonds formed through generations of Mayfield girls.
We were also delighted to welcome Jane Cutler, mother of OCs Sarah Gagg (née Cutler, Class of 1995) and Kate Cutler (Class of 1997). Jane attended in support of her granddaughter, Georgina Gagg (Year 10), and generously shared a beautiful reflection during the liturgy, speaking movingly about the joy and privilege of being both a mother and grandmother to Mayfield girls.
The day was a celebration not only of family, but of continuity, tradition, and the values passed from one generation to the next. It was a pleasure to welcome so many loved ones to Mayfield and to celebrate the enduring legacy of our School community.
