Mayfield’s production of Beauty and the Beast proved to be nothing short of extraordinary, showcasing the remarkable depth of talent within our school community. This year’s musical was so richly cast that we were able to run a double cast, allowing even more students to take on leading roles and bring their own interpretations to this beloved story. Each performance offered something uniquely special, with audiences commenting on how every show seemed to surpass the last.
Performing across four completely sold‑out shows, our students embraced the thrilling challenge of appearing in a professional theatre setting, an experience that will undoubtedly remain a cherished memory for all involved. Their energy, confidence, and commitment shone from the opening number to the final bow, bringing the magic and emotion of this classic tale vividly to life.
But a production of this scale is never achieved by performers alone. Behind the scenes, a dedicated team of students worked tirelessly to ensure every detail was seamless. From costumes, hair, and make‑up, to set changes, props, technical cues, and countless unseen tasks, their hard work formed the backbone of the entire production. Their professionalism and teamwork were every bit as impressive as the performances on stage.
A heartfelt thank you must go to the exceptional staff who brought this vision to fruition. Our Head of Drama, Victoria Nash; Head of Dance, Imogen Hunte; and Director of Music, Theo Frazer, along with their superb creative and technical teams, guided the students with expertise, passion, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Their collaborative leadership transformed a beloved musical into an unforgettable theatrical experience.
Beauty and the Beast at Mayfield was more than a show — it was a celebration of artistry, teamwork, and the joy of shared achievement. We could not be prouder of every student and staff member who helped bring this spectacular production to life.
