This term has seen the return of one of Mayfield’s most enriching traditions: Teatime Talks. We have been delighted to welcome back a number of Old Cornelians, all of whom generously shared their post‑Mayfield journeys with our Year 12 students. Their visits have offered invaluable windows into life beyond school, spanning a wide range of universities, courses, career choices, and personal experiences.
These inspiring young women brought honesty, clarity, and enthusiasm to every session, helping students gain a deeper understanding of the many pathways available to them. From navigating university applications to discovering unexpected career routes, their stories provided practical guidance and heartfelt encouragement.
One of the most significant aspects of Teatime Talks is the opportunity for students to ask questions. Whether exploring academic demands, student life, internships, or choosing between degree options, these conversations spark insights that can shape important decisions. Hearing directly from those who once sat where they sit now makes the advice both relatable and deeply reassuring.
As our Year 12 students consider their next steps, these sessions continue to play a vital role in building confidence, broadening horizons, and empowering them to make informed, ambitious choices about their futures.
We are incredibly grateful to our OCs for returning to support the next generation — their generosity, authenticity, and wisdom make Teatime Talks truly invaluable.
If you would like to offer to give a Teatime Talk, we would be absolutely delighted to hear from you. Your experiences and insights make a real difference, and we warmly welcome new contributors.
