Celebrating International Women's Day 2026

OC News

As part of Mayfield’s celebrations for International Women’s Day 2026, we were delighted to welcome back OC Jenna Milward‑Wiffen (née Harvey), Class of 2010, who joined us for a special assembly.

Jenna, now a Dental Officer in the British Army, shared her remarkable journey since leaving Mayfield. After completing her A Levels, she went on to study Dentistry at Cardiff, a path that laid the foundation for her commitment to care, service, and professional excellence. Following her degree, Jenna worked within the NHS, gaining invaluable clinical experience and deepening her passion for patient‑centred dentistry.

In 2019, she was commissioned as an Army Dental Officer, a role she continues to serve in today. Her work combines clinical skill with leadership, resilience, and a strong sense of duty — qualities that were woven throughout the message she shared with our students.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Give to Gain,” resonated powerfully through Jenna’s story. Her career is a testament to the idea that giving — through service, commitment, and compassion — brings profound personal and professional fulfilment. Whether supporting the oral health of service personnel or embracing the demands of military life, Jenna exemplifies what it means to lead with purpose.

Her visit offered our students not only an inspiring example of a career built on dedication, but also a reminder that the values nurtured at Mayfield can take each of them in extraordinary directions. We are deeply proud of Jenna’s achievements and grateful for the wisdom and encouragement she shared with us.

A true embodiment of “Give to Gain,” Jenna continues to inspire — both within the Army and here at Mayfield.
