Introducing Old Cornelian Chapters: Connecting OCs Around the World

The Mayfield community has always been strengthened by the enduring bonds formed between our students. These connections—rooted in shared experiences, values, and memories—continue long after girls leave the School. As our alumnae network grows increasingly global, we are delighted to launch a new initiative designed to bring Old Cornelians closer together, wherever life has taken them: Old Cornelian Chapters.

What Are OC Chapters?

Old Cornelian Chapters are geographically based hubs that bring together OCs living in the same region, city, or country. Their purpose is simple: to strengthen the Mayfield network by creating local communities where alumnae can meet, support one another, and stay connected to the School.

Whether you are beginning a new chapter in your life or have been settled in your area for many years, these groups offer a meaningful way to maintain ties with fellow OCs and the broader Mayfield family.

Why Are We Introducing Chapters?

With alumnae now living and working around the world, our community has become wonderfully diverse and widespread. While this is something to celebrate, it can also make staying connected more challenging. OC Chapters aim to bridge that distance by:

Creating local networks where OCs can meet face‑to‑face

Encouraging friendships and professional support across generations

Hosting regular activities and events, from informal meet‑ups to networking sessions

Strengthening ties between OCs and the School, wherever they may be

By establishing these hubs in areas with significant groups of Mayfield alumnae, we hope to nurture a sense of belonging and ensure the Mayfield spirit continues to thrive around the world.

What Will OC Chapters Do?

Each Chapter will shape its own identity based on the interests of the alumnae in that area, but activities may include:

Social gatherings and reunions

Career networking sessions

Mentoring opportunities

Cultural outings or community events

Celebrations of key Mayfield dates in the calendar

Importantly, Chapters will bring together OCs from different stages of life—those early in their careers, those more established, and those enjoying retirement—to share experiences, guidance, and mutual support.

Who Can Join?

Every Old Cornelian is warmly invited to join a Chapter. Whether you left Mayfield last year or several decades ago, you are part of this vibrant and ever‑growing community.

We also welcome OCs who would like to take a more active role by becoming Chapter volunteers—helping to organise gatherings, champion local engagement, and serve as a point of contact for alumnae in their region.

Get Involved

We are excited to see the first Old Cornelian Chapters take shape and look forward to watching this initiative grow across the globe. If you would like to join a Chapter, volunteer your time, or simply learn more about the initiative, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Together, we can continue to celebrate the strength of the Mayfield community—past, present, and future—and ensure that every OC has a place to feel connected, supported, and at home.
