On Sunday 18th June 2023, seven candidates were given the Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Richard. The Catholic community at Mayfield, families and sponsors gathered together to celebrate Alice, Amelia, Kamsy, Isabella, Ivana, Sonya and Harry receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
The Sacrament of Confirmation completes Christian Initiation. In Baptism we become children of God, followers of Jesus Christ and members of the Church. At our First Holy Communion we eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of Man so that we may have eternal life. In Confirmation we publicly profess our faith in God the Father and in Jesus Christ. Candidates are confirming their Christian way of life.
