Mayfield Students Raise Over £3,000 for the Cardinal Hume Centre
In a powerful display of Mayfield’s motto "Action not Words," 23 brave students and three members of staff recently spent a night outside, braving the elements to raise over £3,000 in support of the Cardinal Hume Centre.
The event, organised by Mayfield's Justice and Peace group, aimed to bring attention to the struggles faced by families, children, and young people in London who are forced to live with poverty and homelessness. By giving up their usual comforts and spending a night outside, the students hoped to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by those who are less fortunate.
The experience was a profound reminder of the importance of taking action to make a positive difference in the world. The girls’ selfless efforts have undoubtedly made a significant impact on the lives of those supported by the Cardinal Hume Centre. The Cardinal Hume Centre is a charity that provides a range of services to families, children, and young people who are struggling. The charity offers accommodation, food, clothing, and emotional support to those in need, as well as providing educational and recreational activities to help individuals build confidence and skills.
The school would like to extend their gratitude to everyone who donated to this worthy cause. Your generosity has made a significant difference in the lives of those supported by the Cardinal Hume Centre.
