There was a wonderful turnout for the Thanksgiving Service Peter Collins, (Director of Music 2001-2018) on 25th February 2023.
With the Chapel full of family, friends, colleagues and past pupils, it was evident how well respected Peter was at Mayfield and in life. Some had travelled hundereds of miles to be here.
Matthew Ward (present, Director of Music) led many of Peter's Schola members who had returned to join present Schola in excellent voice while Lucia Švecová (17) and Pia Larsson (20) returned to play the organ to show their respect for a wonderful music teacher.
Close friend and colleague Daphne Bagshawe delivered a wonderful eulogy encompassing Peter's spirit.
Afternoon tea was served in the Sixth Form Dining Room after the service giving everyone a chance to catch up and share their memories of Peter.
A marvellous tribute.
We were delighted to share the service online with many OCs.
