This term, we visited Old Cornelians, living in America, Hong Kong, and Madrid. This not only fostered connections but also celebrated the enduring spirit of Mayfield’s alumnae, enabling them to reconnect with both the school and with each other.
One of the most significant highlights of our travels to America was the celebration of our sister school, Oak Knoll, which marked its 100th birthday. This centenary celebration brought together a diverse group of alumnae and guests, all united by their shared experiences and fond memories from their school days. The event was a beautiful reminder of the lasting bonds formed within our educational institutions, emphasising the importance of sisterhood across the seas.
In Hong Kong, Old Cornelians recounted their journeys since leaving school, sharing stories of personal and professional achievements. The evening was filled with laughter and nostalgia.
Meanwhile, our visit to Madrid allowed us to celebrate the spirit of Mayfield in a vibrant city rich in culture and history. OCs in Spain embraced the opportunity to reconnect. Engaging discussions and shared memories served to strengthen the bonds of friendship that have transcended time and distance. Special thanks goes to OC Isabel Campbell, 1981 for all her help and assistance in organising such a wonderful venue.
These visits served a dual purpose: not only did they reignite old friendships, but they also reinforced the importance of community. As we continue to grow and evolve, so too does our network of Old Cornelians. We are proud of the diverse paths our alumnae have taken, and these gatherings provide a wonderful opportunity to nurture new relationships and support one another in our endeavors.
Together, as a global family, we celebrate the legacy of Mayfield and look forward to the adventures that lie ahead.
