Olympic gold medallist OC Emily Craig MBE (2011), was awarded her MBE at the prestigious Buckingham Palace by the Princess Royal. Recognised for her exceptional contributions to the sport of rowing, Emily's dedication and remarkable achievements have inspired countless athletes. Emily's acomplishments are a testament to her relentless pursuit of excellence and her passion for inspiring the next generation of rowers.
In March 2025, Emily announced her retirement saying: “I am so grateful to have had such an incredible career in the sport that I love. It is a real privilege to be able to step away with nothing left to prove and having become the athlete I’d always dreamed of being."
Emily leaves her sport a three times World Champion and two times European Champion as well as Olympic gold! Emily also holds the world record for the best time in the Lightwieght women's double sculls - 6:40.47!
