OC Dominica Yang, class of 1979 has published a book My Mum Called Alzheimer’s.
In this heartfelt book, Dominica offers an intimate and poignant portrayal of her mother’s final years living with Alzheimer’s. Through a series of candid everyday conversations, Dominica captures the nuanced and often heartbreaking moments of her mother’s fading memory, shedding light on the emotional and psychological toll of the illness on both the individual and their loved ones.
Dominica began documenting conversations with her mother as a form of reflection and support after being encouraged by her mother’s psychiatrist to record notable incidents, symptoms and behavioural changes.
My Mum Called Alzheimer’s is more than a memoir; it is a powerful testament to love, resilience, and the human spirit in the face of degenerative illness.
Unfortunately, My Mum Called Alzheimer’s is only available in Hong Kong at present but watch this space……..
Congratulations Dominica.
